I am a Public Health Advocate because no broken system has ever been repaired by accident. In America, our zip code can say more about our health outcomes than our family history does. In the richest nation in the world, there is no reason any child in America should grow up without access to nutritious food, safe and stable housing, clean water, mental health services, and affordable healthcare. I was privileged enough to grow up in an environment that allowed me to thrive, and it’s now my responsibility to use my tools to make that a reality for everyone, especially those who are growing up in underinvested, systemically oppressed communities. No broken system is repaired by accident- time to get to work!
